First Forgiveness

We often focus on forgiving others, not realising we're holding ourselves hostage. Before you forgive the world - forgive yourself 💛

You're angry and mad,
You're unhappy and sad.
Been wronged by them,
Causing all the mayhem.

And then your brain
Plays the game
Of burdening them
With all the blame.

For everything that's
Broken and torn
In your life —
All rains and storms.

You criticize them,
You're pissed off,
You blame them
From dusk till dawn.

You're wasting your time,
The world spins fast,
You're lying in bed
Stuck in the past.

Guilt and remorse
Weigh heavy each day,
You sense it's time
To clear the way.

You decide to forgive ,
Come out and forget,
But drown again
In a vortex of regrets.

You regret the immense
Trust that you placed,
And all the wrong paths
That you chased.

And while you blamed them,
You stayed in denial,
Deep down 'twas you
That you kept on trial.

So before you set out,
To forgive the world,
Take a minute, sit down —
Forgive yourself first.

The chains

Woman is born free, and yet she's everywhere in chains.

And sometimes
I want to dissolve myself
To release the colours
So trapped inside
Since long...
Let those colours mix,
Like ripples of sea,
Creating dimensions unknown
Images....seen and unseen,
Eclectic and Maverick!!!!
Sometimes,
I want to dissolve myself,
Each bit and each inch,
And the chains,
Won't matter anymore.

The Painting

There is life in every moment. The highest moments make life, the lowest ones make us!

Sat down to paint the life,
Wanted it to be all light,
Filled the pallette with colours,
And the colours were all bright.

I painted the meadows,
Painted the streams
Painted the rills,
Birds and beams.
Painted the sunrise,
Rising high
And Painted the bluest
Of all the skies

Yet there was a stillness
Time stuck
An eerie silence
Searching for luck.
No peacocks dancing
And no rains
The dark black clouds
And lessons of pain
Missing were the roses
With their thorns,
And another day,
Them being reborn.

I looked at the pallette
Colours to flush
Spilled the black
And dipped my brush
Then remebered the lessons
Of the scars,
And painted the night
With its moon and stars...

Unnoticed

There are times, when we're overawed by the glitter of others' lives. Longing for the same kind of life, we forget to appreciate the little meaningful moments happening in our own "monotonous lives".

Sometimes, as the time slips by,
When you watch "life" happening,
Out on the stars, unseen;
Or nearby, yet not so close,
And deceptive,
No traces of flowers or scars.
An unpalatable ubiquitous silence,
Amidst the noisy thumping of your own heart.
Does it leave you numb?
And make you wanna
Run a reverse reel?
Searching for rains,
Already dried....
Perhaps, to treasure the "life" that went by...
Unnoticed!!!

A Dream

"Dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep." - A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Dreams are powerful. They are like magic spells that can transform one's life. Dreams give a purpose for one's being. They instill a sense of hope and push people to break their moulds that limit them....enable them to go beyond their ever imagined capabilities. Dreams are the seeds, which when nurtured by belief and hard work, grow into reality.
So never be afraid to dream big....and to embellish them each day!!!

No vengeance, no love,
No fear, no pride,
Neither pearls of wisdom
Nor tryst with gold,
No conspiracy of stars
That I can behold...
All I own is a dream of mine.
A dream that sparked in my eyes,
Into a fire, day and night...
And like a meteor kissing the skies
Burnt my soul....and all was light!!!

The guilty mind

A police officer refuses to file the complaint of a victim due to political pressure.....He had no intention whatsoever, to harass the victim. What about his family members, who ask him to comply blindly to the orders to avoid a political hustle? Do these passive players even know how significant a role they play in denying justice to an individual? Perhaps no....Justice isn't denied by the acts of a sole erring individual, its denied because of the indifference of society as a whole.....It saddening and frightening at the same time, that most of us are unaware of our guilts, of errors that are inevitable being an inherent part of a society....

And on the judgement day,
The wheel of karma may stand still,
They may be absolved of all their sins...
The arms of justice...
Tied by "mens rea"
For what do they know of a guilty mind,
Those, who have sold their conscience?
