The guilty mind

A police officer refuses to file the complaint of a victim due to political pressure.....He had no intention whatsoever, to harass the victim. What about his family members, who ask him to comply blindly to the orders to avoid a political hustle? Do these passive players even know how significant a role they play in denying justice to an individual? Perhaps no....Justice isn't denied by the acts of a sole erring individual, its denied because of the indifference of society as a whole.....It saddening and frightening at the same time, that most of us are unaware of our guilts, of errors that are inevitable being an inherent part of a society....

And on the judgement day,
The wheel of karma may stand still,
They may be absolved of all their sins...
The arms of justice...
Tied by "mens rea"
For what do they know of a guilty mind,
Those, who have sold their conscience?

"Me"

With changing times and lifestyles, the world is increasingly becoming self-centric. In some ways, this egocentric attitude forms the root of mental amd emotional desertification that society faces today. But we fail to recognize this truth as we are too busy nitpicking our problems, concentrating all our energies around our little world, limiting the already limited notion of world we are presented today, thus creating anxieties and some unsolvable problems....which sometimes are a progeny of our own overthinking.

A thousand tiny prison cells,
Where morbid souls dwell,
Each mourning their own fate
Blistering with rage and hate.
Oblivious of others' being,
Deafened by their own screams.
Where darkness consumes
Each ray of hope.
Breathless humanity,
Strangled with rope.

We search for the culprits,
Alas! Its we,
We locked ourselves up,
And we hold the key,
The key to decimate within us,
The brazen concept of "me".
